Commercial Property Executive

Client: Project Management Advisors (PMA)

Challenge: article on California’s seismic retrofit mandates

Solution: Linda worked with subject matter experts (SME’s) from PMA and consulting engineering firm Tipping to write an article on challenges faced by commercial building owners in California to retrofit older structures that are highly vulnerable to seismic events per mandates in specific cities. Specifically, nonductile concrete buildings built before modern seismic codes established in the mid-1970s present significant life safety and resilience risks in the event of an earthquake because they are inflexible or brittle due to a lack of reinforcing steel.

Publication: “Tackling California’s Seismic Retrofit Mandates” – Commercial Property Executive (2024)

Services: SME interviews, research + development, ghostwriting
